I spent the last few years at Meta, PMing large projects across messenger and Horizon. I made the big decision recently to switch back to the Startup world, and focus on AI and GRC.
To be honest, the main reason behind the switch was the opportunity to work on AI, not GRC. My experience with GRC and privacy reviews were not great. I went through many privacy reviews at Meta, and a while back, I helped one of the companies become compliment with ISO 27000. In both experiences, I suffered a great deal of frustration, slowness.
I come to realize that those standards and compliances are there to help companies expand their business and to protect themselves and their customers. The nature of this preventative measure makes it annoying at first and the kind of things companies have to do to prevent something in the future.
I realized that using Agentic AI in general, and ML and other techniques, I can really help those companies reduce the annoying part of this job, but at the same time strengthen their ability to expand, protect themselves, and their customers.
I decided to start writing about my journey in AI & Compliance Product Management as I learn and grow in this domain. I’m starting from zero experience in this domain - i had some ML experience working with Search at Meta, but that is about it.
To be clear, I will be writing in these three areas

AI, agentic AI to be specific, including how to build them and fine-tune the models, and I’ll try to talk about some use cases.
GRC and Compliance, this is a big deal for me now since it is how I’m going to build intuition about the space to help our customers.
Leadership: All the tools I need to grow in this fast pace space and grow as a product manager.
I hope you find value in what I write. Please let me know in the comments.
